ISSDC SE :: April 18 :: REGIONAL PICNIC

ISSDC SE REGIONAL SPRING POTLUCK PICNIC!

It is finally SPRING! The grass is green and growing and the flowers are starting to peak out from their winter protection. Green grass and flowers reminds us that it is time for our ISSDC SE Regional Spring Potluck Picnic!

WHAT: The ISSDC SE Region is holding it's Spring Potluck Picnic on April 18th. Spend a fun day with your Shilohs and your fellow ISSDC SE members outside romping — there will be fun, games, food and friendship; what more could you ask for.

WHEN:
April 18 – begins @ 9am
Rain or shine

WHERE:
The ISSDC SE Regional Spring picnic is graciously being hosted by Gloria and Darrel Setterlund of Noble Acres Shiloh Shepherds at their home in Locust Grove, VA. Please contact Gloria Setterlund or Marti Nottingham for directions or if you have any questions on the location.

WHY:
This should be a lot of fun and a great time to meet other shiloh owners and to sit and relax and have fun with your dog. Your Shilohs are welcome and we encourage you to bring them. They will be allowed to run off lead as Noble Acres is fenced private property but we remind you to be aware of your Shiloh at all times. And besides who needs an excuse to get together with other Shiloh Shepherd owners!

HOW MUCH:
The picnic is pot luck so we ask you either bring a dish to share or, if you're not the cooking type, to donate $5 toward the cost of food and/or other necessities. There is a sign up sheet circulating and you can find it on the ISSDC SE Yahoo Group or you can contact Marti Nottingham for further information and/or to sign up.

ISSDC SE :: APRIL / MAY / JUNE / JULY :: GROUP HERDING LESSONS

ADDITIONAL GROUP HERDING LESSON DATES ADDED FOR MAY, JUNE AND JULY!

Our ISSDC SE Region members have been having such a great time taking their group herding lessons that additional dates have been arranged and added to the schedule!

WHAT: Members of the ISSDC SE Region are taking group herding lessons at Keepstone Farm for their Shiloh Shepherds from Susan Rhodes. If you attended the ISSDC Herding Trial last November you will be familiar with Keepstone Farm and Susan. For those unfamiliar, Keepstone Farm is where the Fab Five Shilohs (who earned AHBA acceptance/recognition for the Shiloh Shepherd breed) trained.

Members are getting together as a "group," however, lessons are taken per individual dog, are hands on and are 20 minutes long per dog. If you are interested in attending, want to reserve a spot or have any questions, please contact Marti Nottingham for further information and/or clarification.

WHEN:
April 26 – lessons begin @ 1pm
May 9th – lessons begin @ 11 am
May 31st – lessons begin @ 10 am
June 13th – lessons begin @ 10 am
June 20th – lessons begin @ 9 am
July 18th – lessons begin @ 10 am

WHERE:
Keepstone Farm, 412 Russell Road, Berryville, VA.
From Rt 660, go 3/10 mile, turn Right at large Keepstone Farm sign (Dog Gone Healthy sign below). Follow farm lane to left turn at #412, and go to end of Driveway.
Keepstone Farm website: http://www.keepstonefarm.com/

WHY:
Well, to see your Shilohs turn on, work and hone their instincts. Folks may come out and check out a lesson first to decide if they would like to try their hand at herding. Secondly, who ever needs an excuse to get together with other Shiloh Shepherd owners! But all dog breeds are welcome — just contact Marti Nottingham to reserve your spot.

Hoping to have a herding trial in the fall to show off everything we've all learned!

HOW MUCH:
Our group rate is $25 for a 20 minute lesson.

This is a great opportunity to take lessons in a laid back, fun environment all the while enjoying the camaraderie of other Shiloh owners.
